Rediscovering Grizzly Peak in Disney California Adventure

Welcome to World of Color Wednesday! For those of you unfamiliar, Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color was a broadcast television series that showcased the new technology of color television. Today, Disney California Adventure plays tribute to that part of Disney history with a spectacular nighttime entertainment show featuring jets of water, lights, lasers and of course music. My own way to pay tribute to the show is by creating a color board every week, inspired by a different land from Disney Parks or character from Disney films. Join me every Wednesday in celebrating the Wonderful World of Color! The Condor Flats area was recently "reimagined", and a new world was created (or completed) to fit in with the existing Grizzly Peak mountain. Stepping into this newly completed area, you are transported to the forests of Northern California, deep into the Redwood National Park in your packed station wagon to explore all that nature has to offer.

The theming is so well-done in the new Grizzly Peak area that I knew I had to create an inspiration board with my favorite details. Check out how well the Imagineers tied in the National Park theme in this new area in Disney California Adventure! DCA Grizzly Peak Inspiration BoardSome of my favorite details are the muted color scheme, and the nature postcards (and not pictured Smokey the Bear t-shirts!) now available in the gift shop. I love how the new Grizzly Peak sign in front of Soarin' Over California is reminiscent the National Park symbol. One of my new favorite places to escape the heat and the crowds is the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail where you can find that babbling creek. And yep, that's the trashcan in the upper right-hand corner. It's safe to say that I'm now in love with this whole area.
