The other day we got our first big springtime rainfall in Southern California. We muted the TV and just listened to the beautiful sound of a heavy rain. You don't appreciate how wonderful rain can be until you don't have it for months (big change for us native Pacific Northwestern folk!).
I always relate springtime to April showers and May flowers, probably thanks to watching Bambi repeatedly as a child (and adult....). The song Little April Showers from Bambi is the quintessential song about springtime, and personal growth. It reminds me that the world isn't always sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes it's a little scary and unclear as to how you'll make it through the clouds. But at the end, the sun will come shining through, bringing with it a new perspective on a freshly washed world.
So the next time it rains, snuggle close to your loved ones (and furry friends) and think of all the magical possibilities on the other side of that rainstorm. Think of all the beautiful new growth that will come with that rain!
