Instead of relying on something that doesn’t come naturally to me (AKA drawing), I want to boost my confidence as I “reenter the workplace” by using my strengths. Writing, photography, website design and marketing are all areas where I feel most comfortable. So why not use it??

Bet you didn't expect to have that song stuck in your head today. Well, let's be real, it's stuck in my head everyday. My little girl LOVES her some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so I knew we had to theme her first birthday party around her favorite pals.
We celebrated at our local Gymboree play center, which was clutch with taking care of basic setup and cleaning up after a group of babies. They also led the group in singing songs, chasing bubbles and getting under the giant rainbow tent.
Of course I wanted to add my own touches of fun! I recently gifted myself a Silhouette Cameo precision cutting machine, so this was my first chance to try it out. I ambitiously attempted to create my own toddler mouse ears, which turned out to be quite the saga and took away from other projects I wanted to tackle. So while I didn't get to create all the fun little details I wanted, I was able to add a bit of Minnie magic to my little girl's party.
The Birthday Girl had a blast! Seeing her devour watermelon and her first (dairy free!) cupcake made my mama heart swell with joy. We were so thankful for all our baby friends who joined us in the celebration. And one of the best parts? NO cleanup! ;)

Things have been quiet around here as we prepare for our first baby, but I wanted to pop in real quick to share our maternity photos. Once we adjust to life with a little one, I'm hoping to share even more fairytale-inspired posts and products to add magic to your everyday life!
As soon as I got pregnant, everyone predicted that we would have a Disney Baby because of my deep love for all things Disney. So when it came time to think about taking maternity photos, I knew the only place that made sense was Disneyland. We decided to save money by taking most of the photos ourselves, while enlisting the help of the Disney PhotoPass photographers. Thus, the DIY Disneyland photoshoot was born!
We were able to squeeze in a quick morning trip to the park during my 35th week of pregnancy. My husband and I had a blast arriving at rope drop and exploring all our favorite spots. He normally is not the photographer in the family, so it was a real treat to have him take the time to snap these shots of my growing belly. Then we found as many PhotoPass photographers as we could, paying the $39 flat fee for a day pass.
Afterwards I lightly edited all the photos in Lightroom (I'm no expert but know my way around). We are both so happy with how the pictures came out. It's something I know we'll treasure forever.

Before I started writing about Disney, I had no idea about the incredible world of Disney bloggers. Finding posts about how much other people love visiting the parks and incorporating Disney magic into their everyday lives helped me realize I am not alone.
I still remember the moment I discovered the Disney by Design blog. Sarah's clear, colorful styling and thoughtful, detailed posts took me down a rabbit holes of reading for hours. I had never really thought about how a "grown-up" could share her love of Disney is such a sophisticated and beautiful way.
You can see in each post how passionate she is about creating quality, original content about how to weave Disney into your everyday life. It's no surprise that she has grown a great community of fellow Disney dreamers in her first year in the blogging world (incredible!) and I know I'm not alone in anticipating what exciting content she will create next.

I'm pretty good at describing other people's style, but struggle to really pinpoint my own. Her words hit right at my heart, like she was reading my subconscious thoughts, and made me realize that I must be doing something right!
