The Midnight Collection: Now Available on Etsy!

I am thrilled to announce the launch of the second complete printable party kit, The Midnight Collection, inspired by Disney's animated classic, Cinderella! The complete party kits include everything you need, and are customized by myself to include your party details. The kit will be sent directly to your preferred email address as PDF files, which are easy to open and print using Adobe Reader (available to download for free here).

How to Assemble Thank You Tags & Cupcake Toppers

The tag and topper designs found in the printable party kits are meant to be mixed and matched to meet your needs. Use your imagination to decorate with these square, or circular, shapes! There are unique designs for the bridal shower kit (happily ever after / tying the knot) and the birthday party kit (happy birthday / life is the bubbles).

• 2.5" square/2" circle thank you tags
• 2.5" square/2" circle Cupcake toppers

This tutorial will show you how to attach them to a treat bag as a square design, and how to easily cut the circular shape and create a topper for a cupcake. See the video at the bottom for a detailed version of each tutorial!

Materials Needed:

• Scissors or Paper Trimmer
• Semi-heavyweight paper or cardstock. In the photos, I used 32-lb. HP Premium Laserjet Paper which works well with my HP Laserjet printer
• Plain tape or double-sided tape
• Hole punch
• Decorative ribbon
• 2.25-Inch Circle Punch (2 Inch will also work)
• Paper Straws (I found mine at Target but these are similar), toothpicks or other type of stick. A dowel would work great for a centerpiece design.

Square Thank You Tags

1. Open the file from my printable party kit (found on Etsy) using Adobe Reader, available to download for free here: http://get.adobe.com/reader
2. Print on white semi-heavyweight paper or cardstock
3. Cut around the outside of the design, then cut out each square using scissors, a paper cutter, or X-acto knife (should be 12 squares from one page)
4. Cut a hole in one of the upper corners using a hole punch
5. Thread ribbon through the hole
6. Tie ribbon around a pre-stuffed goody bag

Cupcake Toppers

1. Open the file using Adobe Reader, available to download for free here: http://get.adobe.com/reader
2. Print on white semi-heavyweight paper or cardstock
3. Cut around the outside of the design using scissors, a paper cutter, or X-acto knife, then cut out each group of designs leaving the similar designs connected (there will be a total of 3 squares connected on 4 strips)
4. Flip over circle punch, align around the center of the design, and punch. Continue for each circle
5. Tape circle to a toothpick, paper straw (cut in half) or choice of stick
6. (Optional) Add another piece of tape at the top of the circle to attach another circle, creating a double-sided design
7. Stick into cupcake or place in centerpiece!

How to Assemble Candy Bar Wrappers

In my latest printable party kit, you will find decorative wrappers for two different types of candy bars:

• 1.55 oz Hershey's candy bars
• Hershey's miniature candy bars*

These wraps are super easy to assemble, and to make it even easier, I put together these tutorials to help. Here are the steps to assemble the candy bar wrappers!

Materials Needed:

• Scissors, a Paper Trimmer, or X-ACTO
• Semi-heavyweight paper or plain printer paper. I do NOT recommend cardstock because it will be hard to wrap and keep in place. In the photos, I used 32-lb. HP Premium Laserjet Paper which works well with my HP Laserjet printer
• Plain tape or double-sided tape
• Hershey's 1.55-Ounce Bars
• Hershey's Miniatures*

*Note: In the photos, I used Hershey's Nuggets (because I liked the gold color) which are a little smaller than the miniatures. I would recommend trimming the width slightly if you use the Hershey's Nuggets, as well.

1.55 oz Hershey's Candy Bars

1. Open the file labeled "HersheyBarWraps" using Adobe Reader, available to download for free here: http://get.adobe.com/reader
2. Print on white semi-heavyweight paper or printer paper
3. Cut around the outside of the design, then along the center dark green line in the design, using scissors, a paper cutter, or X-acto knife (two sheets per printout)
4. Wrap one sheet around a candy bar with the design centered on the front of the candy bar
5. Pull tightly in the back, then use either double-sided tape or other tape to secure the wrap in place on the back
6. Repeat for each candy bar!

Hershey's Miniature Candy Bars

1. Open the file labeled "HersheyMinisWraps" using Adobe Reader, available to download for free here: http://get.adobe.com/reader
2. Print on white semi-heavyweight paper or printer paper
3. Cut around the outside of the design, then along the dark green lines in the design, using scissors, a paper cutter, or X-acto knife (there will be a total of 8 pieces from one printout). *Trim the width slightly if using Hershey's Nuggets.
4. Wrap one sheet around a candy bar with the design centered on the front of the candy bar
5. Pull tightly in the back, then use either double-sided tape or other tape to secure the wrap in place on the back
6. Repeat for each candy bar!

Back in the day when I worked at Paper Source, I loved teaching workshops to crafters of all levels. I truly believe than anyone can be crafty or creative, you just have believe you can do it! Making this video brought me right back to my workshop days, but this is my first time recording myself versus demonstrating a craft technique live, so bear with me!

Summer Garden Party with a Modern Hawaiian Twist

Summer garden parties are just a little bit more magical, dining under the stars on a warm night, surrounding by good food and great friends. Every year, my parents host the Annual Summer Garden Party in the middle of summer for our friends that we call family. While I can't be in attendance this year, I love helping plan the menu, theme and (of course) create the invitations. This year, my mom was stumped on the theme, so I started digging around for inspiration. Target is always great at being on-trend and inspiring easy get-togethers with their affordable outdoor entertaining pieces. The trends popping up for this summer are giant palm leaves, indigo blue linens and bright pink accents. My mom also picked up a great set of chevron striped napkins with shades of tan, pink, blue and green that helped inspire this invitation design.

The result was a modern twist on a Hawaiian party, perfect for a menu filled with fresh fish, grilled veggies and refreshing cocktails. Accents will include those chevron napkins and some amazing flamingo mini lights (because why wouldn't you have flamingo mini lights??).

My parents and their friends look forward to the Summer Garden Party every year, and I can't wait to hear about the great conversations that inevitable form during an evening under the stars. A big shout-out to my parents for being my biggest fans, loyal customers, and for teaching me how to throw a great party!

Doctor Who Inspired Wedding Invitations

A little known fact about me is that I am obsessed with the South. I have a few family ties to the area and frequently dream about drinking sweet tea on a plantation style porch. When I heard about Erin's vision of a modern Southern wedding, with a nod to the couple's love of Doctor Who, I instantly got goosebumps. While Erin & Andrew were fans of the show, they didn't want their wedding to be heavily themed. I wasn't familiar with the show, but after some hands-on research (i.e. Netflix binge-watching) I recognized a few themes. Circles, the iconic blue color and transcending space & time were all perfect elements to incorporate into a modern, yet classic wedding invitation. 

A big congratulations to Erin & Andrew who tied the knot this weekend! I loved getting to know a little bit more about them (and Doctor Who), and creating, in Erin's words, "The perfect invitations!!!" for both of them.

I love finding the right mix between fantasy and themes while still creating a beautiful, classic design. I know how hard that can be to find, after trying to find the right style of fairy tale/garden invitations for my own wedding paper goods, which is why I started Elaina Lynn Design! P.S. 90% of the time I create my own graphics, but for this complex circular design I used the Vectorian vintage vector pack. Their work is flawlessly traced from Victorian era foundry catalogs and cannot be beat at such a high quality. A great resource for graphic designers who love authentic vintage designs!
