Top 5 to Thrive in Disneyland

August 12, 2014

My absolute favorite place in the world is Disneyland. We recently went to the park to celebrate our First Wedding Anniversary. I have been visiting Disneyland since I was a little girl thanks to my grandparents living near the Anaheim, California location. Over the years, I have perfected the best way to fit in all of my favorite rides & activities. I hope these help you enjoy your next trip to The Happiest Place on Earth! Sleeping Beauty Castle1. Arrive before opening (or as early as possible). This is the one time I am a morning person. I can get through three rides in the amount of time it would take me to get through one ride later in the day. You will thank yourself later when there are hour-long waits everywhere you look at 2 PM.

2. Know where you want to go: must-do rides, restaurants you want to try, characters you want to visit. Make a game plan for where you will head when you first arrive, and about what time you want to break for meals so you can plan to be near that area. Character meet and greets can fill up quick, so get in line early if you must meet the latest addition to the Disney family.

3. Wear comfy shoes, and a fun outfit. You will have lots of pictures from your trip so it’s great to have a themed outfit (either as your favorite character or rocking Disney style). We hit 10 miles each day in the park; great walking shoes are a necessity.

4. Take iconic pictures: in front of the castle, with a favorite character, in front of your favorite ride. That way you’ll be able to look back over the years of all your trips to Disneyland at a glance.

5. Take a break in the afternoon: find a shady bench an hour ahead of the parade to relax (and have a great view for the parade!), take a nap back at your hotel room, or enjoy a cool drink/treat while people watching (Dole Whip Floats are a must try!).

The Princess & the Frog Parade Float Your trip to the park will look and feel different every time based on your travel companions & goals. Remember to relax and soak up every moment. Have a magical time!
